ShapeShifter 2.3 Is Out!
And after the longest beta test in the history of the world, too! I won't go into the features here since they're a click away, but I should mention that most of them are under-the-hood changes, safety for the future type things. But you can tweak colors individually in guiTweak now, which means that if there's a theme you almost like, you can probably fix it yourself in just a couple of minutes. The download tab also lights up now when there's a new download available. I hope more themers will submit their downloads! Intel compatibility is next on the plate! In the meantime, grab ShapeShifter 2.3! Trackback Pings: TrackBack URL for this entry: Related:

"Intel compatibility is next on the plate!" When will it be out? Any hint...please! I'm going insane on waiting for the intel compatible version. :( Posted by: on February 22, 2006 11:25 AMIntel compatibility is most definitely the next thing I'm working on (I've actually been working on it while this release was in beta, so I'm already a ways into it). I'm working on a Universal ThemePark release first, because there's a lot of shared code between the two and ThemePark is "easier" to Universalize since it's an app rather than an ape. The only real issue with Intel I described here: Hey, may I ask what theme you're using in the screenshot? That's pretty nice...reminds me of the Adjust palette in iPhoto. :D Posted by: Mike on February 22, 2006 4:13 PMis anyone else having trouble w/ safari buttons? since the update I can't get them to be themed only aqua. Posted by: Andrew on February 22, 2006 4:46 PMIs it now compatible with Windowshade X's shadow borders? Posted by: asd on February 22, 2006 5:01 PMMike, the theme is Gerrit's "Ayofe". It's in ShapeShifter's download tab. Andrew, you're not using a beta version of ShapeShifter, are you? asd, no, it isn't. The issue is that Apple is optimizing drawing inside of the window server. The choices available to me are to: - use fast window compositing, have the window shadow and stroke match the theme's window shape, and have no stroke around the window OR I've released versions using all three choices now and losing the stroke is causing the least number of complaints. The second and third options caused large usability issues. It'll become a non-issue when SS 3 is released, fortunately. Posted by: Jason Harris on February 22, 2006 6:48 PMOMFG This is just incredible :/ It's still not unibin :/ I'm soo disapointed. Still waiting anyway Posted by: Erszho on February 22, 2006 10:44 PMIs this a "it feels snappier" hallucination or Shapeshifter theme loading/changing performance increased? (my OS perf is always same, fine) Posted by: Ilgaz on February 23, 2006 7:43 AMSeem to be having a problem with shapeshifter claiming there's a new version every time I open the preference pane. Corner reads '2.3 (37)' and it keeps telling me that version 2.3 is now available, would I like to download it? Posted by: webfox on February 27, 2006 9:44 PMYup, Intel support is really wanted... Have you a plannified a launch ? Xounds is missing a lot :) Wishing my license for ShapeShifter could be in use on my new MacBook that replaced the old PB. Just a friendly "bump" to the other posts individuals have made in regards to a Universal ShapeShifter a.k.a. the best piece of software I've ever purchased. Posted by: Chris on March 15, 2006 10:06 PMA challenge for our friends at Unsanity: http://whitemagiclabs.com/blog/?p=16 :D Posted by: on March 31, 2006 3:51 AMSome challenge. Is this the same software you were bragging about well over two years ago but have yet to release? Posted by: Rosyna on March 31, 2006 7:07 AMThe macbook and OS X are great, but Aqua is old and worn out. Go unibin!! please! Posted by: Trystero on April 3, 2006 3:20 AMJust got 2.3.1 running and the guiTweak is disabled. Is there not a way to tweak under OS X10.3.9? If not, can a mod be added? Was there a specific reason Panther users aren't allowed to tweak? I'm going nuts! I need to get the white out of my screen! Help! Posted by: Kymm on November 18, 2007 12:26 PMKeep comments on topic.
