Grounded
So, I was skiing yesterday for the whole day, and I barely can walk today (gotta exersize more often!). What a good reason to sit down and work. We're almost ready with a major FruitMenu release due early next week, and I am going to make sure everything is in order and works as expected in the final candidate build. Other than that, a few other exciting and semi-exciting things might be coming down the pipe in the coming month, so be prepared! ;) Trackback Pings: TrackBack URL for this entry: Related:

Not sure if this is even possible, but it seems like you should be able to add things to the FruitMenu just by dragging the item's icon into the Apple in the menu bar. So how is everyone using their FruitMenu? Uhm,er...this? http://webpages.charter.net/seekbus/fruitmenu.jpg Posted by: Rusty on February 20, 2003 9:05 AMI miss having recent servers as a item in the Apple, err, I mean FruitMenu. You can make a server folder and put an alias of each server you log in to regularly. If you don't have any security risks, save your login info in the keychain and it will mount by selecting the alias in fruitmenu. Unfortunatly fruitmenu doesn't refresh, so newly mounted drives and servers will only be scanable once fruitmenu has been manually refreshed. (This process takes a lot of time and brings my dual gig to its knees for about 45 seconds.) Hopefully this will be fixed in the new release. Posted by: Rusty on February 20, 2003 9:28 AMThis mine, but I have recently taken out Sys Prefs: http://e-this.net:8080/stuff/lock.jpg . Unsanity should have a FruitMenu gallery. :) Posted by: Ken on February 20, 2003 10:43 AMHey, how are you guys getting the app's icon instead of name in the menu bar? Posted by: Ken on February 20, 2003 10:45 AMKen, It's with the newest version of fruitmenu of course. :) Just make sure the check box is checked for "Application Menu is an Icon". Posted by: Rusty on February 20, 2003 11:05 AMthat's a fruit menu feature. just enable "application menu is an icon" in the pref pane under the "FruitMenu"-tab. Posted by: LKM on February 20, 2003 11:06 AMthere is a recent servers folder in your user library: Thanks, guys. I'll have to see what else is in there that I never noticed. :) Posted by: Ken on February 20, 2003 3:38 PMI've written to unsanity twice to ask this question and never got a response. Will the upcoming release of Fruit Menu address the bug that prevents the Big Cat contextual plugin from working when Fruit Menu is enabled? Posted by: on February 20, 2003 4:20 PMthere is a recent servers folder in your user library Oooh! I love this kind of stuff! My menu may not be the most exotic, but I'd rather have my right arm cut off than go back to the "regular" (read: lame) Apple menu! FruitMenu is utterly indispensable. Posted by: Scott on February 21, 2003 12:01 AMYeah, new release fixes the problem with the Big Cat contextual menu module. =) Posted by: slava on February 21, 2003 3:00 AMKeep comments on topic.
