Yeah, right. Chicks dig Mac OS X. Uh huh. Chicks also dig Windows, Linux, FeerBSD and VAX/VMS mainframes. Oddly enough, I haven't seen a decent girl who was attracted by me because I use computer with a particular operating system. In fact, no girls were attracted because I use a computer in general, as well. So computer is like a baseball bat during sex - it's long, nice, and nifty, but it doesn't makes much difference in the above mentioned process (hold your sick comments about baseball bat usage during sex to yourself, willya? =). Yeah, of course I've seen a few nerd girls, who did care, but for some reason, our relationships never worked out -- except for cases when we decided to limit our romance to AIM and ICQ. Real fine young pretty ladies don't care what computer you're using, what socks you wear, and if that-thing-on-your-head-is-from-dkny. Period.
Oh, and to step back a little from the topic of this rather dull blog entry, and to conclude it, I think the following acronym very well describes my feelings after typing all this:
WTF?
PS If you like fine young ladies, visit inluminent/weblog. Sex sells? Nice move for a marketing blog. And don't tell me you go there to read it. I do, though. ;)

while i may not date someone for their OS, i will not date someone is they like windows. hmmmm.... been kinda dry lately :P
Posted by: ravedog on October 3, 2002 11:27 AMI agree my girlfriend doesn't date me specifically because i run OS X but it definately is what got our relationship started. Our campus is very devoid of mac users so finding that we both liked mac helped us bond :). We now have 4 macs running in our apartment. Plus a few older ones in storage.
Posted by: Zer0Her0 on October 3, 2002 12:46 PMMan, I got lucky...my fiance loves OS X...in fact, she just got a new iBook after using PC's for years (do I see another Switch commercial coming along)?? I think she just likes the pretty colors and icons, but hey...it'll work.
:)
Posted by: Kent Corser on October 3, 2002 1:08 PMI bought my first Mac last January and gave my girlfriend my old 1.1ghz athlon. She was really happy about it. By the second month of having my new G4 she wouldn't get off it. So I told her I'd get her one. (I was glad to get rid of the windows machine). One week later i sold the pc and got her an eMac.
Now, she doesn't really give a rats a** about computers, but the time she did use it, she was in love with it.........
Posted by: seven5 on October 10, 2002 10:30 PMsalva makes a good point... I am an "exception" since I am certainly a chick, perhaps even chick++. My obsession & enthusiasm for OSX (specifically 10.2.1 for now) apparently border on perversion.
I only just realized that not everyone possess intense passion for their OS of choice, nevermind their hardware or haxies!! My epiphany of personal OSX derangement was triggered when I observed a common phenomenon recurring among my friends. A glassy eyed deer-caught-in-headlights expression whenever I talked. In the course of normal everyday conversation, I excitedly report the day's OSX news. With increasing speed and pitch I describe 10.2 features, orate from a small soap box about open source, quote new RAM prices, detail this kick ass haxie I just bought from Unsanity. With the fervor of a Baptist Preacher, I talk about respect for "indie software companies" and why *everyone* should appreciate the time and effort to build and offer great unique little apps that actually work, better serving the utility of my OSX, hence my day, and better yet, implemented with an obvious, even maniacal (in a good way) attention to attractive, consistent presentation in a sea of messy half-assed shareware, freeware and NO-WARE (it no work)! And for just $7!! I worry you will starve and what will happen to my OSX without you?? (Are your eyes glassy yet, too?) So either I'm an OSX pervert junkie or all those guys were just staring at my boobs!
Great Everything! You rock!
