WindowShade X 4.1b2

While we are working on the Rosetta applications fix in the Application Enhancer, here is a newer public beta version of WindowShade X:

  • When clicking on the application icon in the Dock, and all of the application windows are minimized in place or collapsed, one will be expanded by WindowShade X to prevent confusion.
  • Fixed a bug that made Firefox windows unclickable after window shading.
  • Fixed an issue with WindowShade X not working correctly with some Java applications.
  • Many other smaller fixes.
  • Includes Application Enhancer 2.0.2b2 (this one fixes the Java issue mentioned above).

This build still has some minor issues, but overall we recommend using it over the 4.0.3b1 posted earlier. Thank you for your support! I'll keep you posted on the progress.

As usual, don't publish this on update sites, this is a beta, yadda yadda. =)

Haven't installed the new beta yet, but now that I think of it, could it be that my recent problems with FileMaker Pro (Menus disappearing) and Eudora (Toolbar buttons greyed out) are related to WindowShade X beta? What info would you need from me in case this could be?

Nice, but it still messes up Intel systems ... Microsoft Office gets bolluxed .. take it oiut and they work again. ... This bug was reported and it still remains.

Everytime I try to minimize in place, the window shrinks to nothing... Kind of strange.

I am on an intelmac.

I just installed the beta on my intel imac, but am getting no effects other than the standard 'minimize to dock.' Perhaps it's because it's 'expired'. Am looking forward to having Windowshade back again!

For some reason it works fine with PPC apps, like Entourage, but refuses to work with any Universal app....

FYI: I'm on an intel mac and after loading the beta, my CS2 apps and Quark 7 opened once but then wouldn't open a second time when launched. After unistalling both WindowShade and Application Enhancer, the apps worked.

I can't wait to have WindowShade again!!! :)

If I get more that about 2 windows open - WindowShade starts to get buggy and when I double click to minimze it will jump - to join another window or jump right off the screen! Anybody else having the same or simular issues????

I have the same problem as Bill states... when collapsing/uncollapsing windows, they bounce or jump around an the screen. When I try to move the window, it jumps back to it's previous location. It seems to happen mostly in FireFox after I have chosen "view source code". I can't find anyone else complaining about this, and it makes windowshade X almost useless.

I'm also having problems with Firefox windows "jumping" to undesired locations. Typically, they jump to the top of the attached (right-hand, if it matters) screen on my iMac.
