It's almost autumn (and it sure feels like autumn here in Russia), and the Russian office of Unsanity is busy cranking on updates, ready to be released very soon.
FruitMenu 3.4.2 fixes a bunch of issues with "Application menu as an icon" feature under Mac OS X 10.4, returns the 'Open FruitMenu Items' button to the preference pane, works around an iSync 2.0 bug in Tiger causing it to crash when you hit the Sync Now button under some circumstances, and adds support for the Smart Folders, so you can have your Spotlight searches right in the Apple or Contextual menus.
WindowShade X 4.0.2 fixes some issues with shadows, hot keys, applications compatibility (hello Eclipse users and sorry for all the troubles!), and a bunch of other stuff.
These are not yet publicly available (although they will be in the near future), and if you'd like to give them a try and you're not afraid of potential little bugs, email us at "beta" @ our company + .com. Damn spam email spiders.

*BEEEEEEP* Test successful, Rosyna.
For FruitMenu, it possible to share the menu icon cache between processes, so that there's no delay when opening it the first time?
Posted by: Ryan Govostes on September 1, 2005 1:10 PMI have been using both for 24 hours now and everything is running smoothly - double-ctrl key now works consistently.
Any chance that FruitMenus "Recents" will allow you to specify a larger list than the standard?
Tried out the FruitMenu beta, fixes the only problem I was having with it -> issues w/ Finder and application menu as icon. Good work =).

Posted by: SirG3 on September 2, 2005 7:06 AMHey - is it just me, or did the default (OS X) "menu select with keyboard" behavior change sometime recently?
The way it is now, if I'm on a folder, which has contents, of course, right arrow drills down -- but Return & Enter *also* drill down -- seems they didn't use to... Seems they used to just, select that Folder. So, currently there's no way to select a folder, using the keyboard, that has subfolders within it. Or am I missing something?
Could this (Apple) bug (IMHO) be fixed/patched with some sort of iSWAD or Safari/Preiew thingy?
Then it would be fixed everywhere the OS presents a hierarchical menu of folders within folders, i.e., URL Manager Pro's "Add Bookmark" window, which handily presents a traversable menu of your bookmark 'folders', but with this same stupid bug...
I'm commenting here, because FruitMenu is also bitten by this bug - thus I'm presuming it's an OS bug... I could be completely wrong, tho.
Anyone knowledgeable want to comment?
thanks,
Ed
