Well, I'll probably release Silk 2.0 fc1 tonight if all goes well. Sorry about the huge amount of time that's passed between beta/test versions but during it's session and until school (where I work) gets out on Wednesday then I clean up on Thursday I've been terribly busy working.
My body is not quite made for a job where I sit and wait for something to break for 6 hours a day especially if I am unable to talk to anyone online. It's becomes tedious and annoying. Often I come home and immediately take a nice long nap, wake up a few hours later, try to get back to sleep, fail, succeed at 1am then get up and do it all over again at 6am.
So yeah, those not on the beta list that would like to be email me. rosyna at unsanity.com. Not unsanity.org and not anything else. I've gotten a few emails that weren't to the above email address. I've ignored them. Reading comprehension is a very important attribute in a person to me. Deal.

Take good care of your body and don't worry about Silk. All good things take time anyway. Another few days won't bother anybody.
Posted by: CREB on May 26, 2003 10:50 PMSo far, so good. Only ONE problem left. Vertical Alignment of certain fonts. For instance, in some dialogs with set label heights the text (Arial) is too far spaced and gets cut off. And in just about every button, label, text area, etc is pushed down a few pixels. Very annoying. Can ya add a feature to compensate for it?
Posted by: Jason Anderson on May 29, 2003 6:35 PMNo, it's a cocoa issue really ;) Carbon does not seem to be affected at all.
Posted by: Rosyna on May 29, 2003 11:40 PMAnother thing that is just annoying that I noticed is that it rewrites font settings in certain applications. For one, it changed my "Plain Text font" setting to the font I chose for the System wide appearance. So it'll be Arial 9pt. I had it set (As I have everything with a fixed width font) to VT100 and when I opened it and saw the text all in Arial, I changed it, but it changes by itself back.
Same in Mail. It changed my Fixed-width font which I had so happilly hacked in the PLIST file to be VT100 9pt (Since it didn;t give you that option in the popup.)
It's just very annoying that it changes everything. Obviously, it's just setting the font at the apps start and the app automatically rewrites the PLIST to the new font.I really hope you can catch this.
