MacHack, WWDC and Work
Well, spent a day yesterday getting my tickets booked, conference passes bought out etc. So now it is official - I will be on MacHack and WWDC. So please look out for me - I'll be delighted to shake hands with you. ;) On the work side, thank you for lots of excellent feedback about MIP in WindowShade X. I will be doing some substantial coding over the next week and will try to roll up a new WindowShade X version for you to try out ASAP. Trackback Pings: TrackBack URL for this entry: Related:

Cool, Slava. On the MIP front, there have been a lot of great suggestions. What I would love to see is the following: 1. Preference to dock minimized windows along some edge of the screen 2. Preference for app grouping of minimized icons 3. Preference for not always on top - always on top, as Apple's works, is intrusive. If they are not on top, then a menu extra to toggle visibility would be awesome, though Show Desktop from Everyday Software could do pretty much that already. 4. Some sort of hover information or enlarging would be really cool, as it looks like in your screenshot. THANKS! Posted by: Ken on June 5, 2003 11:43 AMI'd like to just see an ape module that will allow me to set any window in os x to Always On Top. I dont knwo why more video specific apps don't do this like eyeTV and Quicktime. Posted by: jon on June 5, 2003 11:46 AMI'd like to see the MIP support minimizing to Dock easily from dragging or from the menu. Window grouping would be useful as well (as in they snap together [all PB windows, TextEdit windows, etc.] in groups) Posted by: Brian on June 5, 2003 2:13 PMjon, great thought! No really, that shouldnt be a hard module to make? And really useful (my EyeTV will arrive any day now :) slava, WSX looks awesome, cant wait for the new version. But more so, what about the "oldest" (as in least recently updated) haxie - Xounds? WHEN will we see an update?? :) Have a great time at WWDC / MacHack (even tho I wont be there ;) Posted by: Andreas Tellefsen on June 5, 2003 4:49 PMCan I pay some dough to get a copy of Panther everyone knows Apple will be giving out at WWDC? ;-) Please...? It would be alot easier than nabbing it off of Carracho! Posted by: Nicholas Peshek on June 6, 2003 1:03 AMSlightly off topic... I did the same when Steven Frank of Panic posted that he'd be in SF for Macworld, so here goes: if you get a chance, stop by the Apple Store across the Bay Bridge in Emeryville. I work there and we're big fans of Unsanity's work. We'd love to say hello! Posted by: Todd on June 8, 2003 10:08 PMDo you have suggestions for getting there from the Moscone Center? Posted by: Rosyna on June 8, 2003 11:57 PMSince this is the first result in Google, I would like to let everyone know that if you have EyeTV and you want the TV window to float on top, download the "OnTop" module for Unsanity's Application Extender. You can find it here: http://www.sliphead.com/OnTop.ape.zip It turns the green maximize button into an "always on top" button. It makes EyeTV much more usable.
