Labels X Takes Shape
Well, Labels X is definitely starts taking shape. As seen on the screenshot, you can already sort Finder's list view by label: ![]() Current drawback is that it will not remember the column position or sort criteria for new windows, so you'll have to click the labels column every time you want the list to be sorted by it. I don't yet know how to fix that, but even without that functionality, it is pretty useful, in my opinion. Related:

Slava, you're freakin nuts. I can't believe you got this all to work. Looks like a million bucks. Posted by: Aaron Sittig on September 26, 2002 3:20 AMSlava - First of all, you are the proverbial man for doing this. Labels always seem stupid at first look, but they are SO useful sometimes. Any chance of more than 7 colors? Also, how hard would it be to add more than one... um... category? Like, say, "Label" and then "Flavor" and then "Quality"... then you can sort on any of the three, or (in v2.0) search for files with Quality == 8 or whatever... you could call it "metadata"! ;-) But seriously, what about all that? Thanks. Posted by: rob w on September 26, 2002 11:22 AMOh it's coming along very nicely. I'll happily settle for the default number of colors and no categories. Murphy's law and all that. Good luck!
