Labels X: CMM
Labels X contextual menu is finally done (at least as far as it can be done for v1.0): ![]() I've been thinking about the 'meta-data' metaphor you suggested in the comments of previous LX post, and found it very interesting and promising. We'll keep that in store for post-1.0, though, as first I am mostly interested in providing basic labeling functionality. Thank you for the great idea, though! Related:

Great!!!!!!!!!! Looks teriffic! I can wait to try it out. WHEN WILL YOU BE POSTING IT FOR PURCHASE?????? How about today? Posted by: Jeff on September 27, 2002 8:59 AMI have to learn to read my own post: I CAN'T WAIT TO TRY IT OUT! Posted by: Jeff on September 27, 2002 9:01 AMWell, obviously there are still some minor bugs and tweaks to iron out, so not yet. ;) I am just trying to keep you posted on our development progress (besides, I do sometimes like to tease ;). But more importantly, I think its a good thing for companies to keep their users informed on what they are doing - this builds a stronger relationship between two -and- users have a chance to speak out if they like or dislike something before its too late. =) Either way, thanks for your commitment! Posted by: slava on September 27, 2002 9:30 AMIn all our excitment about colorizng our icons and seeing it look very much like our old beloved labeling feature of previous Mac OS's, the question begs: will the haxie have all the flexibilty of the "List by Label" features? For instance, if you select files to be certain colors, will the non-colorized files remain below anything with a color when viewing the list by labels? Will there be the ability to alter the color selection like before (via a color picker), as well as changing the label names? And finally the big question. Given the fact that there is always tweaks and little bugs to work out before launch, and then the process for getting it posted up on the site and connected to the online system for us to folk over the well deserved cash you guys deserve, what do you think is the ballpark ETA for Labels X? Posted by: Jeff on September 27, 2002 10:23 AMI am amazed at what you are able to pull off, Slava. This looks so perfect! I also am drooling to get my hands on a copy, but I appreciate the time you seem to put in to make sure a product is finished (as is apparent by how well all the rest of the haxies work!). I think this is exactly how it should be done. The tantalizing previews are great as well, as it almost feels like we get to see and use it too. I can't wait to see what else is in the pipeline. Posted by: jeremy on September 27, 2002 1:52 PMWow.. This will be nice. If it's cheap, I may have to get it too. Just like WindowShade X. Keep the awesome utilities coming!
