Here is the second beta of Labels X 1.7 (Tiger Compatible). I've got nothing witty to say here.
Version 1.7b2 (Thursday, Patty Mayonnaise 57th, 2005)
- Now completely ignores PowerPlant on 10.4 even if for some bizarre reason some really whacked out plugin loaded it from a framework they included. PowerPlant is not included with 10.4. Praise the lord.
- This also fixed a finder crash when changing an option in the prefpane because someone didn't check to see if it was actually available before using it. Always check for NULL.
- Now loads the external framework for images when needed. Not on application launch.
- French localization by Bernard Rey.
Version 1.7b1 (Mayizzle 57th, 2005)
- Fixed a problem with icons being chopped off on the desktop if the text was set to be to the right of the icon.
- Tiger Compatible. Uncle Approved.
- Updated to APE 1.5.
- Lovely new installer.

in 17b2, the functions of aply label to icons and draw label strips are reversed.
Posted by: vitaly Citovsky on May 13, 2005 5:20 AMactually, it is more involved than that. on my g5 duo 2,5 ghz under 10.4, if i change prefs of labels, it breaks menu master, so i have to logout to get menu master working again. as for labels, even if i uncheck the option to apply color to icon, icons are still colorized after logout. but if i check apply color to icons and uncheck draw colored stripes, then stripes are colored and icons are not after finder lelaunch, but then menu master becomes broken. after logout menu master is fine but icons are colored and no stripes (as it should be according to what i configured).
Posted by: vitaly Citovsky on May 13, 2005 5:33 AMIf you restart the finder too often, labels x and menu master (all haxies) will think the finder has crashed. And as a protection measure, all haxies automatically disable themselves if an application that's auto relaunches appears to have crashed.
Posted by: Rosyna on May 13, 2005 6:16 AMEvery time I change a parameter, all of the windows in the Finder start flashing (black title bar on one window after the other) as if a redraw debugging feature is turned on. It seems to go on for quite a while and then stops.
Posted by: Rob on May 13, 2005 6:40 AMI installer the 17b2 on 10.3.9. Things don't seem to work right : on a right-click, the Finder vanishes and redraws. If I control-click, the contextual menu shows up and then I can Right click again.. until the next restart of the machine.
The names under the icons are coloured - the icons not, the "Activate LabelsX" checkbox checked or un-checked... :-(
Nobody else has these issues?
Posted by: Bernard Rey on May 16, 2005 2:32 PMFunny all comments. I just installed 17b2 under 10.4.1, restarted, and voila! it's Labels X again! No problem at all. Even registered with 1.6 code (as Moses supposed it to be)
