So far so good. I'm really impressed :)

Already paid my shareware fee.

Great.

Great great great.

Did I say great?

Only glitch I've seen was a refresh problem: opened my system folder in list view, disclosed the extensions folder (full of files marked with 2 different labels, for Mac OS vs. 3rd party stuff). Order by Labels was on. Selected about 10 files yet unlabeled, Labels context menu, changed label. The actual change seems to have been done, but they appear still unlabeled, as long as I don't click on them (or move with the cursor keys over them). The list isn't re-sorted either. Changing to column view and back did the trick, though.

Not too bad for something I considered impossible without major hacks, and now you managed it with some tiny looking plug-ins. Still shaking my head in disbelief...

Nothing at all to do with Labels…

Would it be possible to write something that allowed a window to be grabbed anywhere, not juts the title bar?

Back in the System 7 days we had the same problem as what we have now in System 10. You couldn't grab a window by anything but the title bar and windows would get stuck because their saved state was on a larger monitor or something. There was a extension that allowed you to grab a window anywhere by holding down a key combo. Something like this would be great for System 10.

Regarding the window-grab thing: Actually it works pretty good, considering we now only have the title bar to drag windows around. I expected more problems but I only had an un-draggable window once (SIDPLAY IIRC, using some way-off window coordinates that I had to change in the plist file)

Back to Labels: Bug or feature? You can change the label of the Desktop folder by clicking anywhere on the desktop. Somehow it feels like a bug, since it doesn't make much sense to color the Desktop folder (or rather its icon) without optical feedback (you don't see any change on the desktop itself--of course!)...

OT: ooh, ooh! I have a haxie feature request! is it possible to add a "copy path" option to the finder window toolbar "path" button? currently the easiest way to do this is to select a file or directory and use the system services "Make Sticky" option (command+shift+Y), which copies the full path and file name to a new sticky note. This seems like something that should be built in, but Apple left out (which obviously is Unsanitys' forte).

P.S.
Is it ok to make these suggestions in the comments area here, or would you rather they were listed elsewhere?

To: Slava Karpenko, Rosyna Keller, Brian Wilson, and essentially all of Team Unsanity... you are my heros!

Not only do you keep on bringing back those ol' MacOS features that have always made me love using a Mac in the first place, but like a bundle of miracle workers, you're all turning my 'digital workplace' into an enjoyable and productive experience.

I can't thank you all enough... Windowshade, FruitMenu, Xounds, and now Labels!!!
How DO you do it?!

Well, I wish all the $7 bucks I send your way could extend all the thanks and gratitude I have for your amazing work, but I felt I just had to say it in words too.

THANK YOU!!! and keep up the amazing work!!!!!

Love Labels X... I work in educational technology and we used the labels in OS 9 a lot... glad to have this back! My $7 is nearly on the way...

I just have one problem; I have a colorized folder in my customized toolbar (it's green)... when I click on it, it changes back to its default color. If I try and move it, option click on it, or option click in the toolbar; the color comes back (temporarily)... please fix this! This kind of thing drives me nuts (I'm seeking therapy so...)

FYI -- I'm running 10.2.1 on an 800 mHz G4 flat panel iMac

Thanks! You guys are the greatest! I own WindowShade and I love it! Keep up the good work!

What'd be /really/ leet would be the ability to have WindowShade X automatically make all windows translucent. I love having translucent windows everywhere, but ctrl-double-clicking on every single window is a little annoying. And some programs, like Proteus, seem to change their windows back to completely opaque at random intervals.

Keep up the awesome work! :D
