Labels X has been updated to version 1.8.1. This is a recommended update, especially for the ICBM owners (Rosyna likes the acronym "ICBM", and if I use it a lot, it makes the red tubbie happy. So here we go: ICBM. ICBM!).
Finally after a lot of tinkering I've been able to reproduce the bug causing Recent Items to work incorrectly. This is actually a quite common issue for the software development: you get quite a lot of reports of certain bug happening, and you cannot reproduce it, even though you got half a dozen of Macs in the office. So either way, once it has been reproduced, it took a day to fix it. So if you had problems with Recent Items submenu with older Labels X, give this new version a try.
Download here or read about the product.
PS We have implemented PayPal as the payment method in our web store. But thats a topic for a different story, which should follow early next week. :D Meanwhile, feel free to use it.

When is Unsanity going to release another insanely great haxie that everyone has to own?
It seems as if Unsanity has simply stagnated due to a lack of ideas or creativity.
There is a new way to apply labels to icons called Emblematic (I'll not post a link to stay polite) and that is the EXACT thing that Unsanity should be doing. That should be the upgraded LabelsX. That functionality is what I expect from Unsanity.
I miss the old Unsanity. I miss the constant release of tiny earth shattering haxies that I immediately had to purchase.
I wish they would come back and release more mind blowing haxies that I have to own.

Posted by: emlak on April 26, 2007 4:16 AMHi, upgrading to 1.8.1 broke my Labels X!
It will now only draw the filename stripe color (which X already does) and will not color the icon itself - which is the only feature I use!
I usually don't delete my previous version right away, but this time I did. I've tried everything possible, and would like to have a prev. version for troubleshooting. Can anyone help?
P.S. Yes, I relaunched the Finder and also verified that the Finder is not Excluded. Yes I tried disabling APE temporarily. And I've sent 2 emails to support which have gone unanswered. And I'm on tight work deadlines where I'm now working a bit less efficiently....
Posted by: Charles on April 26, 2007 3:32 PMYeah, ICBM sure is a nice acronym, for Inter-Continental Ballistic Missiles!
Posted by: Stian on April 29, 2007 8:58 AMVersion 1.8.1 solved the Recent Items issue for me and worked great. However, this afternoon i happened to reboot and, like Charles and Walter, it no longer colorized icons. Reverting to 1.8 restored the icon coloring and so I am presented with a dilemna: Do I want Recent items or Labels X? I will choose the latter and hope...
Posted by: Gary Kellogg on May 4, 2007 9:48 PMMy problem is identical to that expressed by Gary Kellogg.
I hope Unsanity posts their resolution efforts/status so that we may better decide what option is most appropriate.
Posted by: on May 5, 2007 2:21 PMMy problem is same like Charles, Gary and others. + I face sometimes transperent icons means the icon gets lost for anything any time. You have to select that item do command + I to get info, select icon preview which is transperent then press delete to restore the original icon. These icons not necessarily coloured icons with LabelsX. If you uninstall the LabelsX this problem doesnot happen. which means this happens only with LabelsX.
Any technical Support???????????????????
To Gary Kellogg: Gary, might you have a "virgin" .dmg of a download of 1.8 to share? We all have paid for it, so I don't see why there would be an issue. I foolishly deleted my previous version (something I never do and will never do again). I can be reached here: chmtwo-at-hotmail-dot-com
Unsanity has not been at all helpful, and I cannot believe they haven't re-posted 1.8 for those of us who have problems.
To all: I am EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED - 5 emails to tech support, sporadic responses and nothing that has worked.
UNSANITY - WAKE UP.
Posted by: Charles on May 7, 2007 9:43 PMI have the same problem as reported by Charles. I just sent an email to the tech support department. Hopefully, there'll be a solution soon. Thank you.

Posted by: Ivor Janci on May 8, 2007 7:01 AMHooray! Version 1.8.2 is out as of May 8, 2007, 10:23 AM Eastern (US)! I installed it and it worked.
It appears Unsanity has not posted it yet. If you are impatient, email me at the address I provided last night and I'll send you the link.

Posted by: Charles on May 8, 2007 7:26 AMA little levity: In the ReadMe, the version history for 1.8.2 reads:
Version 1.8.2 (May 9th, 2007)
- Fixed an issue causing Labels X to stop working under some circumstances causing every single one of LX's users to email us. Oops.
Well, at least Unsanity knows we care!

Posted by: Charles on May 8, 2007 7:52 AMKeeping this thread alive. Charles, I still haven't seen 1.8.2 but I'm waiting patiently. I sent an email to tech support on Friday and I still haven't heard anything.
Posted by: Mike Charbonneau on May 9, 2007 6:54 AMWhat's with the bin/labels file in my home folder? It didn't disappear on restart (not that it should be there in the first place).
Posted by: pbear on May 9, 2007 9:42 AM1.8.2 is working fine (I think) on my DP 800 and 24" Intel iMac; both 10.4.9.
Thanks Unsanity!
