FruitMenu for 10.3 Status

Just a quick post to hopefully save a few of you the time it takes to email us and ask the question: "When is FruitMenu going to be released for Panther!?!"

The answer: "When it's ready!" ;)

But really, we're working on it. We missed our initial target date. (updated) We do apologize for that, but please remember those dates were just estimates. Software development is never easy to put exact timelines on, and is made more difficult given the nature of updating haxies to a major OS upgrade such as Panther.

That said, we do thank you for your support and encouraging words! (maybe just don't encourage us with so many 4 letter words though...hah!)

So much to do, so little time....back to work!

Digg This!

F%#$ you! Give me my new Fruitmenu!

"Fruit you"? what the fruit is that supposed to mean?
Oh. only four letters. I see.

heh. You -might- want to cut the unsane ones some slack. Remember Panther and FileVault?

:P

Will the FruitMenu update allow me to display mounted volumes in the desktop CM only, as in 3.0?

Posted by: Tom on December 2, 2003 5:22 AM

Thanks for keeping us updated, Brian. Looking forward......

Take your time guys, don't want any half baked haxies giving you guys a bad rep. As much as I love fruitmenu, I can wait....

The heck with FruityMenu, where's Labels X(P)? The Panther label implementation is heinous and confusing.

Posted by: Rob W on December 2, 2003 7:04 AM

Panther labels are confusing? Are you metally disabled?

Posted by: on December 2, 2003 7:22 AM

*cough* mentally *cough*

Far better to miss a release date than to release a haxie that's remiss. In the future I would simply tell everyone..."it's coming soon."

and what about menu master?

i miss it every day

fruitmenu too... so please hurry

;-)

To the person who wanted to know why I hate Panther's labels: get a finder window in multi-column view. Label 7 items, one each color choice. Now, in the same column, click once on a NON-labeled item to select it. Now look away from the machine for about 10 seconds (to simulate seeing this view for the first time)... look back... quick, which item is selected?

It was a joke people. You're all so dull, I wish I had some toothpicks to stick into my eyes.

Menu master is forthcoming. WHEN I GET MY DRIVE BACK!

I'll second that notion of the Fruit Menu beta working fine on Panther. The only real problem I've had with it is certain third party context menu items don't seem to work (it's a known bug and Unsanity is working to fix this for the release). I'm willing to live with that minor inconvenience...

Well I updated to 10.3 on 5 or 6 computers and all have fruit menu working. What's the problem? Did I miss something? It never occurred to me that there was even an issue with this.

How about finally getting out a 10.3-compatible versions?

FruitMenu, Label X and Menu Master..

It is only frustating to see how Unsanity is releasing and upgrading new products (ShapeShifter) while they keep on delaying the release of Panther updates of their products.
