At Long Last, Intel Cursor Customization

MightyMouse.png
I am (finally!) pleased to announce an Intel-compatible beta of Mighty Mouse.

The biggest thing you'll see here, aside from the fact that it works on Intel, is a revamped user interface. The idea is to open up possibilities for future development, as the old UI was very cramped and limiting. Please let us know what you think of it.

This build also improves support for CurXPTheme cursors from Windows. They just work now, double-click 'em and go. You can find some here.

Submit bugs and comments here, and please don't post this on any download sites, as it's still a beta!

Digg This!

How do I download the beta?! *wink*

Hi, finally we see a beta of this, been waiting a while.

The interface is good. I can hardly remember what it used to look like tho. A memory glitch :( ;)

One bug?! Mighty Mouse doesn't seem to integrate with ShapeShifter2.4beta4 on my machine - an Intel Mac. I don't know if it's intentional.

Ditto - looks great, but I can't actually use it properly because ShapeShifter doesn't recognize it... =\

Justin,

This beta is a stand alone haxie. Why can't you use it? It works for me. It is not available in the regular version of ShapeShifter, although Mighty Mouse is shown and faded out, but I can still do everything in Mighty Mouse. I could be incorrect, but Mighty Mouse is a complement haxie to ShapeShifter, but not dependent upon ShapeShifter?

Same here, the MM beta is greyed out in SS. MM works just fine, but I can no longer use cursor sets that are bundled with guiKits!!!

Jason, can you come up with a quick fix for this?

Thanks!!!

Is there a reason that Mighty Mouse can't change the cursor for web links when in a browser (Firefox, Safari)? I've always hated the default hand cursor that looks like Mickey Mouse's glove, but I don't see it as an available option when in the Mighty Mouse preference pane.

Otherwise, I'm glad to finally be able to change cursors on my MacBook Pro. Thanks for getting this out the door for Intel Mac users.

ShapeShifter integration is fixed for a ShapeShifter 2.4b5 which will most likely be publicly seeded later this week. If you're desperate for a fix today, edit the Info.plist file for both "Mighty Mouse.ape" and "Mighty Mouse.prefPane" and change CFBundleVersion to "1.3b1". I haven't tested that, but I think it'll work.

hey jason, when will the final version of shapeshifter come out? I've been waiting quite a long time.

Damn, good to have custom cursors again.
Been missing these since i upgraded to an Intel iMac.
Easier to find the cursor on the big 20" screen.
My favourite is still HELIX http://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=6&LibID=25
