Apeing Around

The much ranted about update to Application Enhancer is almost done. As a last step before doing some pre-release testing I have expanded the APE Manager preference pane to allow uninstall of the whole APE system, and to temporarily disable it to diagnose problems, if these ever arise. The GUI might get changed around by the time we hit release, but either way, the basic functionality will remain.

Once APE 1.3 will be done, I'll update most of the haxies (commercial titles first) to take advantage of the new enhancements (mostly performance-related) in it. Stay tuned!

Digg This!

Cant wait! FruitMenu and WindowShadeX are both great! On a sidenote, what web host provider do you use for Unsanity?

this brings me to an interesting point... i would like a single installer for everything that unsanity ships. i have a license for just about all the shareware and i use just about all the freeware. i didnt realize just how much unsanity stuff i was using until i wiped this box and rebuilt it. i spent 20mins just downloading and installing haxies :)

one-click-customization please :)

btw, great work. :)

Actually it is Apple that makes this nice OS for us to run the Unsanity stuff. Maybe Unsanity should by Apple and roll it into their next update.

i didnt realize how dependent i am on haxies until this reinstall. my entire workflow is built around this stuff. its insane.

and yes. os x is wonderful. but the haxies are the icing on this particular cake

Thanks, guys =)

As for the web provider, we use pair (www.pair.com). A bit pricey, but their speed and level of support is worth it, I think. =)

Web providers should be rated based on their chances of surviving being /.'d. I am not yet sure how pair stands up in that test ;)

Test it ;)

looks nice, will disable temporarily disable ape as a whole or only disable a specific module?

Downloaded APE to try out cleardock. Installed on 10.2.6. Cleardock works but when I try to customize APE in preferences panel it crashed the preferences. Does thia work on 10.2.6 ?

I'd like to see an "install" button rather than an uninstall one ;-) I just installed another machine, copied the old Library and Users folders, and things didn't work until I realized that the APE stuff in the System folder was missing. Some check and "install" option in the Prefs panel would have helped here. Instead I had to uninstall (hey, it wasn't really installed yet!) and install APE from scratch. The other stuff was working fine, just the few bits that had to be in the System folder were causing problems.
