Well, Chat Transcript Manager 1.0.2 is out, and it is a Universal binary now.
What's better, MacZOT! is offering it today for only $8. Yes boys and girls, that is $12 off the regular price ($20). Grab it while it is available there!
Meanwhile, Chat Transcript Manager 1.1 is on the horizon, with the support for other IM clients. Right after we're done with the Intel compatible haxies. ;)
So many of you are probably wondering what's up with the Universal releases of our stuff. To make long story short, it is still in progress.
Some things slowing us down:
- Of course, Application Enhancer for Intel. A whole new architecture, backwards compatibility, Rosetta.
- Most individual haxies for Intel are fairly easy to port, requiring only minor changes (but lots of testing to absolutely make sure we don't cause any problems). This doesn't applies to ShapeShifter, though - it is probably one of the toughest ones to ensure backwards compatibility with the released themes and make sure everything works as consistently on both processors as it does now.
- I still don't have an Intel-based Mac in the Russian office, where the majority of our products is created. My DTK exchange order has been placed about 3 months ago, yet it took this much for our beloved company to send the replacement iMac for our DTK. Now it appears the machine is finally at the Russian customs, so as soon as I pay import tax on a free item, it'll be here (read: 2-3 weeks). This means I can finally test stuff on a production hardware, as lots have changed (DTKs can't run 10.4.6, for example, not to mention an entirely different hardware). This will also take some time as again, we don't want to screw you up by releasing undertested products.
While we have achieved some great progress on the above mentioned problems, we still cannot provide an ETA for when everything will be ready. Rest assured, we don't do anything now other than working on providing you with the ICBM-compatible versions of our stuff. Thanks for bearing with us! ;)
ShapeShifter 2.3.1 has just been released. No, this version is not yet a Universal Binary, but we're working on it... I believe Jason's quote was "It'll be ready when it's ready." ;) Oh, and in case you haven't heard, the Geek About Town himself got married a week or so ago! Congratulations Jason! If you're interested, there is a fine thread over at MacThemesForums showing off some of the event artwork by the prolific David Lanham.
Back to the topic at hand... this update fixes a few issues that cropped up in the 2.3 release, specifically:
Keep an eye out for more from us soon!
