Functionally Equivalent to a Jackhammer

I doth present to thee Menu Master 1.1 Regular Alpha 1. It's got a full on installer now. It should be functionally the same as 1.0.1. It works in panther. It works with all applications I have tested it with except for InDesign. It works with the Application menu so again, you can remove the Block Pop-Up windows shortcut in Safari and stop hitting it every time you try to hit command L to go to the location field. See my previous rant on this.

Please note that the tutorial does not yet work. Funny, isn't it? Otherwise, this release is general public worthy.

  • Rewrote the Preference Pane to recognize the new preference format. Restoring keys and removing applications now work.
  • Made the preference pane slightly smarter.
  • Fixed a bug in the APE that caused changes in menu item shorcuts that have already been changed to nest the keys. This would not cause any functional oddities but did significantly mess with the new preference pane.
  • The hardcoded exclude list is ignored.
  • Keys can be set for menu extras. For now they are ignored and when opening the menu again, they will not be shown.
  • Setting key combos without a command key in Cocoa applications may or may not work.

    This is my favorite haxie

Remove the "Select all" menu from the Edit menu also so you don't keep quitting the app when you try to select all text... (little pun intended) :)

You know, strangely enough. I've been using MM 101 under Panther to fix MT-NewsWatcher for a good long time now with no problems at all. With that said, MTNW is the only app I alter with MM.

Seems to work fine, except that in the preference pane, the "menu item title" colum lists "n/a" for everything, instead of listing the menu item.

    1. Install Unsanity's Silk
    2. In the "Global Application Settings tab, hit "Add Application", and browse for the Finder. (System/Library/Core Services/Finder.app)
    3. Enable Quartz options.
    4. In the "Font Settings" tab, choose "Font Subsitution" enabled for the Finder, and "Original Font=Lucida Grande, Subst Font=Arial, or Arial Narrow for even tighter spacing.
    5. IMPORTANT: Tick on "Custom theme font, and choose Lucida Grande.
    ALSO TICK ON "Fast"
    6. Log out and back in.

After these steps you will have a Finder with the normal Lucida Grande font, but with much tighter grid spacing...

I think I deserve a free haxie for that one :-)

    Happy New Year Unsanity!

    Thank-you, Thank-You, THANK-YOU!!! My unsanity is restored.

Man, what a relief..... once again, doing cmd+F9/F10/F11/F12 here creates a new folder, opens it, changes it to List view, and kills the foolbar, all in less'n 2 seconds.

    [Insert MacHead ::::happy dance:::: here.............]

i tried that hack with silk to make spacing tighter. it scews up the fonts all right (makes files names squished in list view), but in icon view on desktop - nothing gets tighter. sorry. thanks for trying, though.

It's really a kinda sad thing to see this very enjoyable blog been blown to pieces by Mr/Mrs Spam. Did you Unsanity guys/girl install the MT-blacklist by any chance? Mr/Mrs Spam should be on it. Fast.

This isn't spam - the urls are fake. It's someone who is either really pissed at Unsanity, or lacks any serious intelligence. Actually, it's probably both.

I would like an official sign-in so only legitimate people can use this blog.

You know... you can set your own keyboard shortcuts in System Prefs under "Keyboard & Mouse"

Just a thought - and it's what i've been using while waiting for Menumaster
