Panther Compatibility
Just a quick note we have posted a page that contains Mac OS X 10.3 Panther compatibility information for our haxies. The page will be updated as we progress with the compatibility updates: Trackback Pings: TrackBack URL for this entry: Listed below are links to weblogs that reference Panther Compatibility: Pather Compatability Chart for Unsanity Haxies from inluminent Tracked on October 21, 2003 5:46 PM Related:

Sems to work great so far. Thanks Michele Whhooaaa... What happened to everyone's ('cept your own I suspect) favorite Mint Audio? No Pantherisation on that one? You don't want us Mint fans to grab a copy of the free Whamb player, do you???? Besides that: thx for the info :) Posted by: Ton on October 21, 2003 6:54 AMXounds 2.0 still has serious problems with APE 1.4.1 on 7B85. Most applications, including Entourage 10.1.4 and iTunes 4.1 will crash when launched. Posted by: Laurent Daudelin on October 21, 2003 9:16 AMwsx 31b works like a charm (so far) on my machines, all of the previous shadow issues are gone. good job! plus two other observations ... 1. fruit menu 32b1: on my machine, the entire system prefs window is bein closed (system prefs app still running) then choose "system prefs" from the apple menu and check the appearance of the window on my machine, i see a white rectangle (size and shape of the previous "apply or not?" dialog) overlaying the main system prefs window, only way to get rid of it is to quit and restart system prefs. 2. general "ape" thing: I love Unsanity! You guys and gals really go it with a vengeance and it's appreciated by people like me who not only enjoy your haxies, but rely on them. My biggest concern is when a new system or system version comes of age that I will have to wait forever for developers to catch up and make the little apps I need current. I'm purchasing Panther the first day! Thanks Unsanity. And yes I know not all the haxies work and that they are in beta, but at least they are transitioning and that's all that matters to me. Posted by: CREB on October 21, 2003 9:48 AMEditing shortcuts is built in to Panther partially, and Menu Master is being worked on for Panther compatibility I bet. Posted by: on October 21, 2003 11:03 AMalthough i installed ape 141, info in its pref pane still says 1.4 Posted by: vitaly citovsky on October 21, 2003 12:42 PMhow do I go about upgrading to panther? 1) installing the haxie updates first, then installing the panther update or what? Posted by: LKM on October 22, 2003 4:53 AMLKM: either way: APE 1.3 will not work under Panther, so no problems will occur if you have it installed; if APE 1.4.1 is installed prior to the upgrade, it will properly warn you the first time it boots in Panther. So choose whatever path you'd like, we tried to make the transition as smooth as possible (aside from downloading new versions for new system), so there's no certain 'approved' way of migrating to Panther. ;) Posted by: slava on October 22, 2003 7:06 AMConsidering the Panther hoopla I am concerned as see many programmers rushing a bit too fast into changing over their software. However, I have been running into problems with some of the software (so far none from Unsanity....yet) and it has given me fits. I ask that software authors please be cognizant that things still need to work in Jaguar and that some of us are eager to make the jump to Panther, but only after the first human MAC sacrifices have been made...so it has safe for us other fools! Posted by: CREB on October 22, 2003 9:14 PMOne more thing...I haven't seen this much excitement in the MAC Community since the release of System 7. Posted by: CREB on October 23, 2003 9:16 AMWhamb doesn't do MODs, though, Ton! I love how small and functional Mint is, but I'm afraid to see it fall so far behind - I've fallen back to relying on MikMod for some things, as I can't script Mint - I do hope it works with 10.3, or I'll be a saaad panda. Posted by: Shawn on October 23, 2003 12:04 PMIf you could add the ability to REMOVE Apple's hideous highlighting in the Finder, to Labels X, I will give you a million dollars. Posted by: Etan on October 25, 2003 8:29 AMRe: LabelsX I sure hope you guys have figured out a way to defeat Panther's new labeling feature. What I want to see is the abiltiy to revert to the labeling feature that colors only the icons and not the icons text (as was the case in OS 9 and earlier and LabelsX under Jaguar). I'm really tired of looking at colored text lines in Finder windows (list view). I'd also like to have the ability to change the colors, via the color palette. Just my 2¢. Posted by: John Baltutis on October 25, 2003 11:29 PMWindowshade 3.1b4 froze my computer when maximizing a Microsoft Word window that was MIPed. Alt-tabing to/from Word prior to this didn't bring the other (unMIPed) word window to front, which may be related. Do you want bug reports? Posted by: Jeremy Peterson on October 27, 2003 5:47 AM10.3 Issues: 1. When windowshade is installed sometimes windows do not properly come to the foreground. This problem seems particularly acute in entourage and dreamweaver. Basically the problem is that you click on a window and it doesn't come to the foreground... The only solution seems to be minimizing all the other windows. This gets so bad after a while that a reboot is needed. ----- Keep comments on topic.
