Labels X progress

So, this haxie is progressing nicely:

Again, I wish Finder didn't use 3 different implementations for its 3 views, but ohwell(tm). Still a bit glitchy, but definitely taking shape!

Your FruitMenu and WindowShade X haxies made my switch over to OS X fairly painless. The one thing I really, really miss from OS 9 is labels. If you can get this to work, I'll be sending my check before the download is even finished.

The key feature of labels that I miss isn't so much the colors (though they really made folders easy to check at a glance), it was the ability to _sort_ the folder view based on the label. I write software books for Peachpit Press and labels really helped me track progress & revisions of various chapters & figures. Assume that'll be possible with your haxie?

Good luck!

Waywest could have not said it better!

Besides the features of the old Apple Menu Items and Window Shade being dropped from System 10.2, the removal of labels and the sorting process was an even bigger mistake.

For the very reasons stated in the previous comment, organizing files is extremely important to me and being able to quickly spot and identify files is essential.

Labels X seems to be the solution and I don't think I can top Waywest's quick on-the-trigger payment plan but I'll sure try. Assuming this little ditty (.ape) is going to work like the old labels in previous Mac OS's, you're going to get either his or my payment first.
